Tanner City Fencer's Club (T.C.F.C.) is sponsored by the Peabody Parks and Recreation Department. It is unique in the fencing world because it is an all-volunteer organization available to anyone interested in the sport. Begun in the 1960s by Joe Pechinsky, it is lead by a team of very accomplished fencers who donate their time each week to coach at the club. Tanner City meets weeknights in a Peabody middle school during the school year. It has a very casual atmosphere, and, in the spirit of true sportsmanship, everyone pitches in to help wherever needed.
