Tanner City Fencer's Club (T.C.F.C.) is sponsored by the Peabody Parks and Recreation Department. It is unique in the fencing world because it is an all-volunteer organization available to anyone interested in the sport. Begun in the 1960s by Joe Pechinsky, it is lead by a team of very accomplished fencers who donate their time each week to coach at the club.

Tanner City meets weeknights in a Peabody middle school during the school year. It has a very casual atmosphere, and, in the spirit of true sportsmanship, everyone pitches in to help wherever needed. Within it's unassuming surroundings, however, the club has produced innumerable national champions and Olympic team members.
