CA; USFA; SUMMER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Tournaments in BOLD are
confirmed dates and places. Tournaments underlined are
confirmed dates and places of national tournaments. All
other dates are pending confirmation by the regional
coordinator and/or the local organizer.
NOTES: Sept. 1, 2004
-Preferred format is one or two rounds of pools with
100% promoted to a direct elimination ladder of 2 of 3
5-touch bouts. The proposal to the Board of Directors at
the Oct. 2 meeting will be that points are awarded at
RYC and up to two RYC results would be included in the
national point standings for Y10, Y12, and Y14.
Points are awarded to
top 40% of the competitive field, regardless of where
the cut occurs, with no rounding, using the National
point tables for Youth 10, Youth 12, or Youth 14 as
appropriate.
For the Summer
Nationals Y10 and Y12 competitions, athletes would have
had to compete in at least two RYC competitions or one
RYC and one NAC Youth in the current season in the age
category and weapon in which the athlete plans to enter.
For the NAC Youth in April 2005, any athlete meeting the
age eligibility requirements may enter the NAC provided
the athlete is a current competitive member. For the Y14
National Championships at the Summer Nationals, Y14
fencers MUST either be on the Y14 National point
standings on May 1, 2005 or place in the top 25% of
their Division's Y14 qualifying competition.
